Grey Power Championship Review

I covered most of the Grey Power Championship when it occurred, but, there were a few things missing that I will add during the few next days, like a couple of videos and some screen caps.

White hat Tradition review

This celebration was held on April 5th when all the Calgarian Olympians had rendez-vous at the Olympic Plaza to be given the famous white hat in regard of the great work accomplished for their nation during the Olympics. You may like to visit my earlier entries done when it occurred to know more about it but i thought the following elements were nice additions.

Vancouver 2010 - Screen Caps - Final - Part 1

Working on a new video, i realized that i had forgotten to share some screen captions of the final match at the Olympics. I’ll fix that this weekend, but here’s a little preview at some awesome close ups.

Where's Team Bernard ?

Before sharing some pictures of the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games 2010, here’s the little game we’ve already play in an earlier entry. Can you find Team Bernard? I think all those athletes look happy, but look for the one with the most beautiful smile. Cheryl is right in front, leading the group!

Before the Olympics, only curling fans knew them, now, millions will always remember the curling team from Canada. I don’t know if it is because I was a little biased even before it started, but I really do think that Team Bernard, and their Skip, were the most watched bunch of women during these Olympics. The values they vehicle, what this team represents, make us proud!

Curling lesson with Team Bernard

Funny, precious, worth watching... Pretty good memories for those who’ve seen it and in case you’ve miss it, there’s your chance. Team Bernard and Calgary Flames seem to have a lot of fun!!!

I always find it pretty cool, Lanny Mcdonald was one of my favorite player as a kid! ^^

New Treat

I don’t especially like entries about loss, but, they can't win them all. Before i started this blog, i didn’t have to talk about tournaments, i was just happy for them when they win and felt for the ladies when they lose, so i always cared! Now, i have this blog, which i have to say, i am happy with, and, i also take care of Team Bernard facebook page and their twitter for them in collaboration with the Skip, so being involved like this make me feel... closer, if I can say so this way.

So, from now, after a tournament, there will be some sort of a special happy entry, either to celebrate a win, or cheer up in the contrary. I am running a little late tonight, but here’s a little clue of tomorrow’s cheer up entry.

Do you remember this?

It is funny because Lanny Mcdonald was one of my favorite Hockey player.

Manitoba Lotteries Classic update

Team Bernard tried everything they could with the curling they had today, but it is true to say that the days go by, but don’t always look the same. It started with a wakeup call losing to Team Scott, 3-7. So, few hours later they had to go back on the ice to stay alive in this tournament, which they did, and won against Team Thurston, 7-3, after a relatively slow start. Right after this one ended, they stayed on the ice to meet Team Overton-Clapham and well, a very costly sixth end from which they were “this close” to come back from but finally lost 5-6. Overall, some good wins, but I am sure the girls thought they would do better are disappointed. Faithfull to their perspective, they will bounce back for their next tournament, the Red Deer Curling Classic.

Manitoba Lotteries Classic update: draws 7 & 9

2 great wins today for Team Bernard. First match was against Nedohin, who had beaten our foursome at their 3 last meetings. Even before it started, we knew it was going to be a tough battle. The sixth end really set up the match as team Bernard scored 3 points increasing their thin lead to a huge 6-2. Then, they added another point with a steal in the seventh end. Team Bernard 7 Team Nedohin 2

The second match was another hot meeting as they had to face the team from China, Team Wang. Each team held up their part of the bargain scoring with the hammer at each end; an extra was necessary: Team Bernard 6 Team Wang 5

Next match tomorrow morning at 9h00 (CT) against Team Kelly Scott. Keep it rolling Ladies!

Manitoba Lotteries Classic Update: Draws 3 & 5

On the first match, Team Bernard was playing against Team McCreanor. They started strong leading 6-2 after 5 ends. What seemed simple turned out to be a little complicated as Team McCreaner did 3 consecutive steals but, it wasn’t enough for them to level to score, Team Bernard wins 6-5.

In the second match, they were meeting Team Carey: Strong start but different ending. A very costly fifth end as Team Carey scored 4 points. The momemtun shifted and even thought they tried hard to came back levelling up the match at 6-6 in sixth end, Team Carey came back in the seventh with a deuce and Bernard ran out of rock in the final end. They slide to event B and they will meet Team Nedohin. The girls have to find their best curling since Team Nedohin seems to have t heir number. Team Bernard, you can do it!!!

Cheryl Bernard posing in a calendar for a good cause

It is true, Cheryl Bernard is going to appear in the 2011 women of curling calendar. Everybody is entitled to change their mind, and there is no better reason to do so for a good cause. Cheryl is in great shape and healthy and this is the image the project is going to show. I know when and where this photo shoot was done and definitively know what kind of pic it is going to be, but we will have to wait for the calendar to see the final result. But, till then, with the authorization of the woman herself, here’s a sneak peek of it that can also be found on the exclusive Team Bernard photo section on their facebook.

Looking good, doesn't it? ^^ Also, some quotes from the Skip about the project and to which association the proceeds will go.

Sponsor Wanted : Hurry Hard!

In an earlier entry, i talked about the fact that Team Bernard didn't have any sponsors but didn't mention it again since the Official Facebook page as covered it. In brief, Team Bernard took a unique approach to attract sponsors. Starting yesterday, a picture of the team is displayed on Billboards on major road in Calgary. The picture, copyright Team Bernard, speaks by itself.

Interested parties can visit the team’s website for further information and details around sponsorship opportunities.

2010 Manitoba Lotteries Women's Curling Classic

In a few days, the Manitoba Curling Classic will take place. I did, in earlier entry, a brief history of the second slam of the year and covered past results of Team Bernard. The draw is just out for this 2010 edition starting on Friday, October 22nd and first match of our favorite Team will be at 3.00pm (CT) against Team McCreanor, a local team. See Team Bernard's part of the draw below! Go Team Bernard!

You like flash back? Well, I do to. Here’s Cheryl Bernard at this same tournament 3 years ago.

Between the sheets update – Don’t do complacency

On this entry, the ship shares Team Bernard’s feelings after 3 tournaments in this new season, what they had to adjust and the important things to stay on top. See all the details on the Canadian Curling Association website.

Canada Cup Add

These days, they are promoting the Canada Cup a lot. The tournament will be held from December 1st to December 5th in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Here's a little add they are using to invite people to go see the event. I wish i could be there! But i'll be, in a way, as the event will be on tv. I'll remind you the schedule in due time.

See this entry which talks about the performances of our Girls in earlier editions of the Canada Cup with pictures and video.

Interviews Treat - Interview 3

To continue on my Olympics review (I hope you are not tired), as mentioned earlier this week and following yesterday pictures, here’s a video shoot after the silver medal match. The girls didn’t have time to say much since they were required on stage, but even then, the little they said to each other was just enough to remind each other how important each member of this team is and how proud everybody was of their accomplishing. I don’t have it on video, but Susan gave one of the best answer that shows all the admiration she has for her skip and how supportive she was, no matter what : “We wouldn’t have won the Trials or had a chance at a gold medal unless Cheryl had played like she had this year, and made the shots she did – there is no one I would rather have throwing last rock for me.”

Pictures Treat: wearing the Maple Leaf

I’ve been missing those photos treats, haven’t you? Maybe it is because i am a photo girl, but I just like images. When the season started, we were about to review the comments of Team Bernard after the silver medal match. To put us in the mood, here are some pictures took during the interview I am going to present tomorrow.
