Cheryl gives time for good causes

Cheryl never counts the time she gives for good causes. Through the years, she’s been involved with many organizations and this year is no different: she will be part of kurlforkids event in April, the DQ miracle treat day in August and she recently joined the board of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation and the Esteem Team at Motivate Canada.

Today, Cheryl is helping the efforts to find a cure by acting as a spokesperson for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and the Spring Sprint. "I hope that the funds raised through Spring Sprint help create technological and surgical advances and ultimately find a cure for brain tumours".

This organization holds a special place in her heart as it was her father’s courageous journey with a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) that inspired her to get involved and raise awareness at the first place. “It changed my life,” she explains. “I pretty much moved in with my parents to help them manage it all.” “My dad and I were incredibly close and I was angry at the diagnosis...and did everything and anything to find a cure.”

Which brings us back in 2003 when she created the Curl for a Cure in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In the five years that this event ran (from 2003 to 2007) over 1.3 million dollars was raised in support of the CBCF.

One-year anniversary of Cheryl Bernard Page

Today, is the one year anniversary of “Cheryl Bernard Page”: more than 400 entries, 1,000 pictures and 50,000 viewers all over the world. Believe me, when I started this page, I didn't know the adventure would go that far.

Here’s a little jewel that I was hiding in my treasure box for a special occasion like this. This wonderful picture was taken by Carla Fedge and I can’t thank her enough to have allowed me to post this in here. Full Credit and rights to her.

... Cheryl Bernard visited the odd Squads - 105 country CKRY-FM – for an early morning interview. Times flies, isn't is? I added some pictures below about it. You may also like to visit my previous entry about Cheryl’s stop at the radio station for more details and pictures.

Cheryl is just as busy as she was then. This week, she did a keynote for the AGM in Ontario, release the official news about her new squad and if a believe Twitter, there is a curling clinic with her in Calgary tomorrow.

An exciting new season coming up in 2011-12

Everybody was talking about it but nothing had been confirmed until now. Tomorrow, Cheryl Bernard will announced officially her new squad. Mixed feeling of parting ways with dear teammates Cori Morris and Carolyn Darbyshire, but those four ladies will remain friends forever. They were ready for it and a new team Bernard will be formed for the new season and a lot of excitement comes out of it.
